Project: Shalor
Role: Brand Designer
Tools: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Express, Firefly
Objective: Create a product and brand system.
The Challenge
Over a focused 1.5 month timeline, the goal was to redefine the aesthetic of pet accessories. Most products in this space lean into a rugged, utilitarian "outdoor" look. Shalor sought to change this by creating a softer, more inviting approach. The challenge was to build a brand identity that felt both premium and approachable, emphasizing the emotional connection we have with out pets.
The Identity
The name Shalor is derived from the Armenian word for "plum." This linguistic root provides a rich, organic foundation for the visual language. The brand's palette uses deep, soft plum tones to provide a sophisticated contrast to the raw, earthy texture of the hemp fabric. This juxtaposition represents the intersection of nature and intentional design.
The Strategy
The is strategy centered on materiality and sustainability. By utilizing hemp fabric, a renewable, highly durable, and earth-friendly textile, we established a foundation of "Conscious Comfort." The brand strategy positions the product not just as an accessory, but as a commitment to the planet and the physical well-being of our furry friends.
The Application
Shalor's application is rooted in the "deep bond." From the tactile experience of the eco-friendly packaging to the timeless silhouette of the bandanas, every touchpoint honors the relationship between humans, our furry friends and the environment. We have moved beyond "pet-wear" and into the realm of sustainable lifestyle essentials.
The Outcome
The final result is a cohesive brand ecosystem that proves eco-friendly products don't have to sacrifice style for sustainability. Shalor successfully transitioned from a linguistic concept to a tangible product line, offering a unique soft-minimalist alternative in a saturated pet market.
