Project: Summer Salt Tour Promotional Band Poster

Objective: Design a a poster teasing an upcoming tour for an indie band called Summer Salt.

The Challenge

Translating the breezy, nostalgic coral reef rock sound of the band into a static and motion-based medium, with the specific imagery of "Driving to Hawaii" while maintaining a distinct indie aesthetic.

The Identity

A playful, bubble style typeface is used for the band name, featuring a soft color palette that evokes a retro, surf-culture vibe. The project utilizes tropical motifs such as hibiscus flowers, and palm silhouettes to ground the brand in its signature coastal atmosphere.

The Strategy

Using the song "Driving to Hawaii" as the creative direction to ensure all visual elements feel like an extension of the music.

The Application

Static Poster: A graphic designed for print and digital social media feeds.

Motion Graphic: A video component where the sun rises over the ocean horizon, mirroring the passage of time and the "driving" narrative of the song.

The Outcome

By combining tactile design elements with atmospheric motion, the project successfully captures the essence of Summer Salt’s brand.
